Google Maps: Water Well Or Missile Silo, You Decide

By hedgeek

This is one of those really weird Google map Easter eggs that make you go "hmmmm". The image is a zoomed close up of an actual Google map location in satellite mode. The location is really in the middle of nowhere. A couple of people are looking up. So do they know the satellite is flying overhead? What exactly is the importance of this well in the middle of the African desert? Do you think these guys are actually guarding something like maybe a missile silo? What is so interesting about this site that they would let you zoom in so close? Is it real or was it added by Google just for laughs? What are your thoughts?

Hmmmm

Do you think they saw a Coke bottle drop from the sky and land into the well? It would explain things :)

maybe they are guarding the site of the holy grail... probably an idiot dropped it there accidentally and now they have to guard it forever...

They are probably looking up at the HELICOPTER that took this photo.

Def not a missile silo, far too small for that. Interesting pic though!

@er - The coordinates are on the "Link to live map" in the Hub. It's somewhere in Africa. (Sorry my German is a little rusty)
